ARCshelter has developed a series of designs with some of WA's leading architects and designers. We are currently building our first prototype ARCshelter Urban home in Wembley. The ethos of ARCshelter - being stylish, affordable and sustainable - has been incorporated in the design brief.

As an outcome of this research ARC Shelter has and continues to develop a range of designs. The main focus of the homes will be to provide an affordable and sustainable outcome – whether it be a rural setting or urban location.

Each of the homes will in essence PLUG into the earth and will include various GreenSmart options inclusive of:

• Solar Power and 12 volt were possible.
• Water [recycling, harvesting and catchment.
• On-site desalination where required.
• Solar Power and 12 volt were possible.
• Waste management and recycling principles incorporated designs.
• Passive solar and wind catchment.
• Low maintenance and low impact designs.
• Recycled material used in construction, where possible.
• The design will take into consideration how the homes will plug into a grander eco estate or sustainable rural lot holding, where possible.
• Permaculture principles.
• VOC – Use of non toxic materials where possible.
• Construction miles – like food miles – source local produce and labour, where possible.
